About Us

Hi, I’m Mary. I live in Seattle and create recipes for my friends and family. I have a passion for international cuisines and hope to share my discoveries with you as well. Thanks for visiting my blog!

I started cooking as an escape from the daily stresses of life – it was my escape. Plus i’ve always been a keen traveller so i combined the two and started tasting and cooking new cuisines whilst exploring new destinations and learning as i went.

I’m passionate about cooking and love toying around with different flavours and ingredients to create new dishes. I like experimenting on my friends and family but cooking for a group can be challenging. That’s why i started this blog, so that i could share my experiences with all the wonderful people out there that enjoy the same passion.

My favorite destinations are the ones that have a diverse range of flavours to experiment with and access to some pretty spectacular ingredients. I particularly enjoy South East Asia – the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia. It’s also great to dine out at ethnic restaurants whilst travelling but there’s nothing like creating a dish yourself from scratch! I’d love to travel around South America one day and check out some Brazilian dishes too.

My biggest inspiration for my cooking is my sister. She’s a very talented chef and to be honest I’ve taken a few of her recipes, changed them slightly and claimed it as my own. She’s so generous she doesn’t mind. She’s also a fantastic travel buddy and we’re hoping to take off travelling together soon.

Here are some of my favorite dishes and recipes:

Avocado Mango Salsa – This salsa is so refreshing because its made with the beautiful mango, avocado and paprika. I love serving it with tacos, wraps and burritos. It’s also great to pack in your lunch to work or college.

Pineapple Creme Fraiche Burgers – These burgers are a fantastic twist on traditional burgers.

I presume you’re here because you either love food or travelling. Or hopefully like me you love both.  Ive been doing the two loves of my life for over 20 years now and recently decided that I should start putting everything I have learned down on paper.  But it’s 2021 so who keeps a diary anymore.
